Sample Additional Practice Exercise 1
Draw a circle around the dot tiles with 3 dots.
The first dot tile has no dots on the left and 3 dots on the right. It is circled. The second dot tile has 2 dots on the left and 1 dot on the right. It is circled. The third dot tile has 2 dots on the left and no dots on the right. It is not circled.
Count the dots on the first tile: 1, 2, 3. Circle the tile because it has 3 dots. Count the dots on the second tile: 1, 2, 3. This tile also has 3 dots, so circle it. It does not matter that the dots are in a different arrangement. Count the dots on the third tile: 1, 2. This tile has 2 dots, so do not circle it.
