MATH HELP AT HOME
Sample Additional Practice Exercise 1
Draw a circle around the dot tiles with 5 dots.
The first dot tile has 3 dots on the left and 2 dots on the right. It is circled. The second dot tile has 4 dots on the left and 0 dots on the right. It is not circled. The third dot tile has 5 dots on the left and 0 dots on the right. It is circled.
Count the dots on the first tile: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Circle the tile because it has 5 dots. Count the dots on the second tile: 1, 2, 3, 4. This tile has 4 dots, so do not circle it. Count the dots on the third tile: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. This tile has 5 dots, so circle it. It does not matter that the 5 dots on the first and third dot tiles are in different arrangements.
