Sample Additional Practice Exercise 1

Count each group of sea stars and then write the number to tell how many.

3 groups of sea stars with a number written under each group. Each group shows, star, star, star, star, star, star, star, star, star, star. The number 10 is written under each group.

Count the sea stars in each box aloud: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Write 10 under each box.

Index Cards, Pencil

ACTIVITY

Draw groups of 9 and 10 circles on 2 index cards. Have your child write the correct number on the back of each card. Then use the cards to practice counting and reading the numbers 9 and 10.
