Take apart the cube train. Circle each of the parts you make and then write the numbers to tell the parts.

The sentence Take apart 6 and a picture of 6 cubes in a train. A group of 2 cubes and a group of 4. Below is written 2 and 4.

One way to take apart the cube train is to make parts of 2 cubes and 4 cubes. Draw the parts and circle each part. Then write the numbers 2 and 4.

ACTIVITY

Give your child 8 coins. Have him or her use the coins to show a way to take apart 8 into two parts. Then have them write the parts.
