Use two different colors of cubes to model this way to break apart 10, and then write the numbers. Use two different cubes to find another way to break apart ten, draw the cubes, and then write the numbers.

Have your child show the number 10 in different ways using 10 cards or pictures. Ask your child to tell the two parts of 10. Have your child show one part of the 10 pictures or cards facedown and the other part faceup.
