Avery built shapes out of pipe cleaners. Mark an X on the triangle. A triangle, a circle, and a rectangle. There is an X over the triangle.

A triangle is a shape with 3 sides and 3 vertices. Therefore, the shape on the far left is a triangle.

Look around your kitchen with your child. Look for materials that can be used to build different 2-D shapes. For example, your child can build shapes from dough, wooden spoons, or string.
