Look at the pictures and tell what words you can use to describe the comparisons. Then circle the comparison which shows that one object is heavier than another.

You can compare objects in different ways, such as heavier or lighter, taller or shorter, or longer or shorter. In this example there are two comparisons, one showing an object that is heavier than another object and the other showing an object that is shorter than another object. The comparison showing which object is heavier should be circled.

Have your child identify two objects at home and explain to you how they can be compared. As needed, prompt your child to think about how long, tall, or heavy the objects are, or how much the objects can hold.
