Circle the tray with 8 cubes.

Three trays of cubes. The first tray has 15 cubes. The second tray has 6 cubes. The third tray has 8 cubes. The third tray is circled.

Count the number of cubes on the first tray. There are 15 cubes. Count the number of cubes on the second tray. There are 6 cubes. Count the number of cubes on the third tray. There are 8 cubes. Circle the third tray.

ACTIVITY

Give your child a handful of small items such as pennies, buttons, or dry beans. Have your child count how many of each item there are. Count together to check your child’s answers. Then line up the same number of objects in another arrangement. Have him or her count to see that the number is the same.
